  • The mother hen turns her egg about 50 times a day in order not to stuck the yolk on the shell.
  • The average hen produces about 300 eggs per year. Starting at the age of 19 weeks, it remains productive during the 12 months. The older hen produces larger eggs.

  • If you have two eggs and if you want to check if the eggs are boiled or fresh, you need to turn around the eggs. The boiled egg, will spins easily, and the fresh egg will spins very slowly, or will not turn at all.
  • If one egg is fresh or not, you can check if you put the egg in a bowl with warm water. If the egg is fresh it will fail in the bottom of the bowl and it will stay there. If the egg float on the water, probably is spoiled. In the fresh egg the yolk is round and always is above the whites, and whites remains close to the yolk.
  • The ancient Greeks believed that the world was created by the egg which was laid by the goddess Eurynome.
