Easter is one of the biggest Christian holidays. Then we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which according to legend is redeemed for the sins of all mankind, crucified on the cross.
The holy custom of Easter related mostly to dying, exchange and breaking eggs for health. This holiday is very favourite to all ages.
There is some interesting and little facts about this holiday:
1. The tradition with Easter bunny begins in USA at 18 century. It is thought that the origin of this tradition is rooted somewhere in Europe. Easter bunny also became very popular all over the world.
2. Easter is celebrated at different times of the Eastern and Western Christians. The reason is that the date of Easter is calculated depending on the calendar, the Julian or Gregorian.
3. White crin is a symbol of resurrection in many countries in the world.
4. Chocolate candies in the form of eggs were first created in North America during the civil war. These candies were sent to the soldiers who have been away from their families.
5. Traditional egg coloring is called dying. The coloring was eventually done with the colors of natural materials. Red eggs were dying with beetroot. Other decoration on egg apply them with hot coals.
6. The Latin name of Easter – Easter, derived from the name of the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eastre which symbolizes the beginning of life.
7. The exchange of eggs for Easter dates back as spring custom in which the eggs emerge as a symbol of reincarnation and fertility in many cultures.
8. In some of the Anglo-Saxon cultures where pretzel is a traditional breakfast, it is associated with Easter because of distorted dough in the middle reminder of crossed hands in prayer.
9. For Americans, Easter is the second holiday in consuming of sweets on Halloween Day.
10. For Christians, Easter symbolize joy, delight, new life and resurrection.
11. Easter is the oldest and most important festival in Christian calendar. He is celebrated for three days in the real death of Christ.
