7 WEEK BEFORE EASTER – BEGINNING OF LENT – FORGIVENESS
This holiday comes after several major winter holidays and connects a large number of spring holidays. When it comes word for the feast Forgiveness can’t be neglected the days which precedes this feast. One week before Forgiveness in Saturday is All Souls’ day. The week before Forgiveness it called MEAT FASTING, or it’s called MEAT BEGINNING OF LENT, because on that days it’s starts the beginning of lent with meat products. This week from meat beginning of lent until Forgiveness it called Meat fear Sunday because in this period are eaten milky product. Meat beginning of lent it’s coincides with Forgiveness, from the beginning to not eat milky products and then begins the big SEVEN WEEKS OF EASTER FASTING, and it lasts until Easter.
There is believing that on this day the sky and the earth forgives each other, so also the people should do that, always the youngest one ask for Forgiveness from the older one. On Forgiveness are performed some other rituals like ritual bonfires, rich dinner table, rituals for cleaning from fleas and other pests. Obviously is that some of the rituals has Christian basic, while the others are connected with some pagan celebrations.
Clean Monday is the first day of the EASTER FEASTS. Also the first week from this fast is called FIRST FEAST or CLEAN, and the hole fast is called the GREAT FASTING.
